Tesco have launched the Centenary Grants programme in celebration of Tesco reaching its 100th year as a supermarket retailer. Groundwork which is an environment charity is running the grant programme on behalf of Tesco.
The Centenary Grants round is now open for not-for-profit groups to apply for the full £25,000 grant, to deliver any health and wellbeing project across an entire funding region. (Note Reigate & Banstead falls within the Surrey region). Groups are encouraged to collaborate with partners to deliver their project across the whole region.
Tesco colleagues will be involved with shortlisting three applications in each region, to be selected for instore voting throughout November & December 2019, in every Tesco store within that region. Tesco customers will be given the opportunity to vote for their favourite project, with the group receiving the most votes getting the first place prize of £25,000, second place £15,000 and third place £10,000. There is no deadline given so groups are encouraged to apply as early as possible.
Organisations can apply online here: https://tescobagsofhelp.org.uk/
Groups who have applied for the Tesco Bags of Help £4,000 community grant scheme will be considered for one of the instore voting rounds outside of the Centenary Grants rounds. Groups can apply to both grant programmes simultaneously.
