The Community Foundation for Surrey currently has funds available to support the strategic development of charities in Surrey.
Grants of £5,000 – £20,000 are available to support strategic projects which strengthen charities, increasing your potential impact and encouraging long-term sustainability:
- Capital Expenditure – including equipment, new construction, renovation, and expansion which are critical to sustainability and achieving your mission.
- Strategic IT Projects* – including investments in hardware/software which will enable expansion or efficiency in service delivery.
- Strategic Organisational Developments – including mergers and planning initiatives which use expert consultants to determine new, transformational paths.
*A note on IT Projects: Although CFS recognise that updating IT is essential, it is new IT solutions which enable you to work in a new way, save time, reduce costs and reach more people that really are good candidates for funding and are most in line with donors’ priorities.
(For example, CFS have provided funding to install a new case management database and associated business software, which enabled the charity to more efficiently manage confidential client information and save staff time; and for another charity they have funded a software management system to consolidate administration into one system and automate routine functions.)
Other recent projects their donors have funded include consultancy costs for the investigation of a new business venture to bring in earned income, management consultancy for a merger and funding for a building renovation to develop a social enterprise community café.
