Surrey County Council have prepared some information for anyone who might be interested in finding out more about being a Councillor.

They have recently updated the ‘Becoming a Councillor’ information on their website. This includes responses to Frequently Asked Questions, alongside links to useful resources from the Local Government Association.

Surrey County Council has also scheduled two ‘Becoming a Councillor’ events that prospective candidates can attend to find out more about being a Surrey County Councillor. These events will include practical information on the support available to councillors and the electoral process, alongside talks from existing members and the opportunity to meet with representatives from the political groups.

The dates for these sessions are:

Wednesday 29 January 2020 6 – 8pm (Registration from 5.30pm) – Training Centre, Wray Park, Reigate and Banstead

Friday 28 February 2020 10.30 – 12.30pm (Registration from 10am) – Woking Borough Council Chamber

Attendance is free but tickets should be booked via the Eventbrite links. Please do feel free to share with anyone else who may be interested.
