About GACT and who it supports

GACT is an independent charity that awards grants annually for projects within the “area of benefit” covering parts of East and West Sussex, Surrey and Kent. In particular, funds are targeted at areas where people are directly affected by operations at Gatwick Airport.

Within Reigate & Banstead the “Area of Benefit” covers Horley and the south of the Borough. It also extends as far north as Reigate and Redhill. (Merstham and all areas to the north of the M25 are outside the eligible area.)

The normal level of grants is from £1,000 to £5,000. Occasionally larger grants will be made. Match funding is welcomed.

What can be funded?

GACT support the following types of projects:

  • the development of young people
  • the arts
  • sporting facilities
  • environmental improvement and conservation
  • improvements to community facilities
  • volunteering
  • the elderly
  • the disabled
