Author of “The Young Trustee Guide” outlines why and how boards should recruit young trustees, giving practical steps to take.

The Association of Chairs Expert Insight Sessions will give you the opportunity to hear from an expert, ask questions and discuss with fellow Chairs and Vice Chairs.

This session will be led be Leon Ward who is a trustee and Deputy Chair of Brook Young People, the UK’s largest sex and relationships charity for young people. He is also an Ambassador for the Young Trustees Movement. Previously, he was a trustee of Plan UK, Interact Worldwide and Leap Confronting Conflict. He is author of the Young Trustees Guide, published in the UK to encourage the charity sector to increase the number of young trustees serving on charity boards.

In this session, Leon will outline why and how Chairs and boards should actively recruit young trustees. It will also outline the practical steps you need to take to ensure the board allows young trustees to thrive.

The session will be held over the online platform, Zoom, enabling you to see the expert and others joining the session face to face. Never used Zoom before? Do not worry! Following sign up we will send you a link to join the video call and instructions on how to use Zoom (e.g. how to check your sound and video are working).

The session will begin with the expert giving a short presentation on a particular topic. There will then be opportunity for you to ask questions, share your own learning and experiences and to hear from others.
