Surrey Crisis Fund

  • The Surrey Crisis Fund is run by Surrey County Council and provides financial help to Surrey residents who have nowhere else to turn in an emergency or following a disaster. You can find further information on the fund, and the application form, on Surrey County Council’s website here.

Household Support Fund

  • Reigate & Banstead Borough Council has been allocated £382k of additional funding to continue to support our most vulnerable households over the winter months. This is part of Surrey County Council’s share of the Government’s new Household Support Grant
  • We will be using this grant to:
    • Issue £100 supermarket vouchers for food and essentials to residents in need. This will be through two routes:
      • During January and February 2022, RBBC will write to households with dependent children who are on our Council Tax Reduction list (i.e. households with dependent children who already are in receipt of a discount in their council tax) to offer them a voucher. The letter will include a website link to the form they need to fill in
      • Working with referral partners both external (CARB, CDA, Raven etc) and internal (Money Support, Family Support, Housing) referring households who are identified that would benefit from a voucher
    • There will be one voucher per household. The vouchers will be available until March 2022 or funds run out. Whichever is earliest
  • Fund local voluntary and community organisations and Food Clubs to provide food and fuel to residents in need. (Contact communitypartnerships@reigate-banstead.gov.uk with any questions about grants)
  • In addition our housing team will be supporting households they are already working with to cover housing costs where no other funds/support are available
