Bereavement Volunteer (RB)
A bereavement volunteer offers advice and support to clients of all ages and backgrounds. They use listening skills and empathise with clients to enable them to talk about their loss and associated feelings. Confidentiality is an important aspect of their work, as is being non judgemental.
The Awareness in Bereavement Care (ABC) training course equips the volunteer with knowledge and understanding of grief to enable them to carry out this role. No previous experience is required, simply a supportive and caring manner and a genuine desire to help those who have been bereaved.
Most of our branch meetings are held at St Clement's Church School in West Ewell. Surrey East area covers Reigate and Banstead, Tandridge, Mole Valley and Epsom & Ewell.
Training cost £300, which will need to be meet by the volunteer.
We are running a course on Saturdays in April/May in Redhill.
We also require 2 year commitment from all our volunteers.
