Digital Support Buddy (CSVA)

← Back to search results

The Digital Support Buddy role is a rewarding volunteering opportunity for those who would like to help build a bridge between the people we support and the digital world, ensuring they can effectively go online and access all the things that many take for granted.

This opportunity will help you strengthen your listening and mentoring skills, meet new people and make the difference to the lives of people who are more digitally excluded.

Our Digital Support Buddies are essential to the success of Creating Connections, a programme that supports people with learning disabilities, autism and sight loss accessing the digital world to live more connected lives.

The Digital Support Buddies will deliver accessible digital training and offer support to the people we support to get online.

They will help build a bridge between the people we support and the digital world by supporting them with the following:

- Learn how to use their tablets, laptops or mobile phones remotely.

- Provide support on how to search the internet, setting up an email/Social media account, etc.

- Complete online forms, do job searches, etc.

- Look up local opportunities and resources.

Our Digital Support Buddies will play a key role to ensure that the people we support become more comfortable using smart phones, tablets, computers and the internet.

They will be able to access things like online classes, meeting new friends, trying online dating safely, taking part in their communities - and more.

Location: Remote (Volunteering from Home), with occasional travel to our Head Office in Epsom.

Time commitment: 4-6 hours per week until March 2022
