DIY Expert - Repair Café Volunteer
Established in 2006, Merstham Community Facility Trust (MCFT) is a charity that aims to support, connect, and empower the local community. We work with the public and other organisations in a common effort to improve social welfare, health, education, employment and the general quality of life of members of the local community. Based in the vibrant Merstham Hub, MCFT provides a safe, accessible space for individuals to receive inclusive access to provisions and opportunities.
About the role:
We are looking for repairers to join our Repair Café. Whether you are an engineering maestro, DIY enthusiast or a sewing guru, your skills will be put to good use, giving items a second life. You will have a positive economic and environmental impact to the local community.
Activities includes:
- Repairing appliances (toaster, tv, speakers, clock, computer…)
- Repairing garments, uniforms, sewing badges…
- Share your knowledge with the community.

What skills do I need?
The ideal candidate will have a non-judgemental attitude and be confident in either:
- Electrical or mechanical engineering.
- General DIY.
- Sewing.
