Driver (CSVA)
We are looking for people to use their own car to drive older people in Claygate and Esher to medical appointments approximately once or twice a month on weekdays.
Drivers can be flexible about when they are available to drive, eg only in term time or on certain days.
Each journey usually lasts for about an hour and a half.
Out of pocket expenses can be claimed.
Drivers will be part of a team of 40 drivers who meet each other at occasional social events.
What skills do I need?
People who live in or near Claygate or Esher who enjoy the company of older people and would like to help local residents who are unable to drive themselves or use public transport.
Drivers need to be caring and reliable. They will also be asked to use the charity's mobile for a fortnight once a year to take telephone bookings from home and find drivers.
They will be part of a team of 40 drivers who meet each other at occasional social events. Experience of using a mobile telephone and checking emails is preferable although training can be given.
