Do you enjoy driving and have your own car or access to a car? This is a vital role for your local community!
Driving elderly, infirm or needy people to surgeries, hospitals and other medical appointments. No heavy lifting will be expected of you. A regular commitment to specific days and times is not required. Journeys are mostly local.
What skills do I need?
Drivers are expected to be dependable and willing to listen and prepared to wait whilst their clients attend their hospital/doctor appointments.
Full driving licence and appropriate insurance cover; as volunteers will be expected to use their own vehicle. CARE cannot undertake to reimburse volunteer drivers for any additional premium cost.
NOTE: If vehicle is leased, check with your insurer that they will cover the car for voluntary driving.
