Jordan Heights is an activity centre and camp site in Reigate. The site is leased from the National Trust by Reigate District Scouts for use by Scouting groups, Girl Guides, Duke of Edinburgh groups, schools and youth groups to support young people in trying new activities and developing new skills for life.

This year, Jordan Heights has a new committee with ambitions to develop the site to offer new activities and improve the existing facilities.

As the Finance Support volunteer, your role will be:

  • To keep monthly records of the expenditure and income generated.
  • Prepare monthly income and expenditure reports.

  • Undertake financial analysis to help determine the pricing structure and the ideal mix of groups to maximise utilisation and income.
  • Report back to the Jordan Heights committee 6 times per year and if required attend meetings with the Reigate District trustees.
  • Help the committee to meet reporting obligations, advise and implement the best way to structure the accounts.
  • Become a member of the Jordan Heights committee and be involved in decision making about the future of the activity centre and camp site. 

What skills do I need?

This role would suit someone currently in or recently retired from a finance role.

Essential skills include:

  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience in book-keeping, budgeting and planning income and expenditure.
  • Work as part of a team to manage the operations of the Jordan Heights activity centre and camp site.

Desirable skills:

  • Experience in managing a charity’s finances and good working knowledge of the obligations of a charity’s financial conduct.
