Heathland Conservation Management (SH)

As a volunteer Heathland Conservation Manager, the work in the main comprises of cutting and clearing invasive pine spalings that are hindering the heather regeneration in order to create a habitat that will support endangered ground nesting birds, such as the Nightjar. Most of the work is on Broadmoor to Bagshot Heathland.

We address antisocial behaviour in the countryside including enforcement of legislation, with a goal to protect members of the public from illegal activity, alongside carrying out heathland habitat conservation management.

What skills do I need?

You are not required to have any qualifications in order to volunteer, as there is a training programme given. Initiative, passion and a sense of humour are strongly encouraged.
