Walton Stroke Group is a social group which supports stroke recoverers giving them opportunity to share experiences, have fun and receive support from a team of volunteers.

We would like to raise awareness of our group, helping us to reach out to people who may be unaware of the support we can offer people following a stroke, ensuring we reach as many people as we can and make them aware of our fantastic Group and the services and support we can provide.


If you would like to help us in any of the areas listed below, we would love to hear from you

·       Providing marketing support and assistance.

·       Organise and provide marketing support for events and special projects.

·       Promoting the Walton Stroke Group locally and in the surrounding areas of Walton on Thames.

·       Design promotion material such as posters and displays.

·       Work with local organisations to raise the profile of Walton Stroke Group.

·       Work with local advertisers to keep our name in the public domain.

·       Assist and support us with a social media profile.

·       Maintain a directory of services and events

What skills do I need?

Awareness of the groups aims and activities.

Ability to promote and market the group to relevant outside organisations in the community and expand the groups membership numbers and activity offerings.

Raise the profile of the group in places such as local hospitals, local Doctors surgeries and community notice boards.

IT skills - Confident in the use of social media, primarily Facebook. Promote the groups aims and activities via local Facebook groups and set up the groups own Facebook profile, linking it to the groups website.

Teamwork, Planning, Networking and Organising.

Friendly, understanding and approachable and keen to support the local stroke community.

An opportunity to join our Board of Trustees may be available within this role.

Availability Details

The role includes both working at home and attending the group at Walton Day Centre on Mondays mornings.
