Committee Member (Publicity & Social Media Coordinator) (RB)

We are currently looking for an experienced publicity & social media coordinator to join our committee team.  We are a close-knit team so we are looking for volunteers who would be willing to help out, at times, with other tasks that need doing to make sure that our scheme is successful.   We anticipate this role will take around 2 days a week.

The role involves;

  • Promoting Redhill Good Neighbours (RGN) on various social media platforms such as;    Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc.
  • Create marketing flyers, artwork and materials.
  • Liaising with local media such as newspapers, radio etc. to drive and promote local support for RGN.
  • Promote RGN functions and events.
  • Produce monthly e- newsletter that would act as an all round communication linking RGN’s volunteer networks with local businesses and media contacts.

Please note - During Covid-19 crises, RGN will be following government’s guidance in relation to its service.

What skills do I need?

  • Experience of using social media platforms.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy with a high standard of written work - spelling, grammar, punctuation.
  • Creativity - knowing what makes a good story newsworthy and emotive.
  • Able to work on one's own initiative.
  • A good networker with a passion and confidence for the cause.
  • Good organisational and communication skills.

Please note all our roles are flexible and home based. We usually meet once a month in Redhill but due to Covid-19, we now have occasional Zoom meetings instead.
