Social Media Volunteer (CSVA)
Do you have a flair for social media and are you looking to gain more experience in this area?
Could you make a real difference to a small local charity?
Dyscover is a charity based in Leatherhead and we support people with aphasia, and their families. Aphasia is a communication disability, acquired through a stroke or brain injury. As part of a wider expansion project, we are developing our online marketing capabilities and introducing Instagram.
We need a helping hand to use social media and so we’re looking for someone creative and motivated to help us plan and grow the way we use social media.
The core of the role is creating brilliant content for our social media channels, to promote our voice, raise awareness of aphasia and to grow our online networks and community.
This would include our members, volunteers, referrers, donors, fundraisers, partners, and local businesses and of course to increase the number of followers that we have.
We also want you to help plan and run these campaigns; make sure they align with the rest of our marketing, measuring and amending where necessary.
The role would initially be office based for half a day per week (Mon-Thurs), but longer term it could be done remotely.
The Role
• The coordination of all social channels (currently Twitter and Facebook, and Linked in)
• Producing compelling content for a range of audiences and purposes
• Finding ways to reach to people with aphasia and their families
• Staying up to date with the latest social media best practices and how they can benefit our audience • Curating relevant content our followers with engage with, especially reactive content and breaking news
You would gain
• Hands on experience of online marketing within the charity sector
• The chance to make a real difference and help an organisation transform the lives of people with aphasia
What skills do I need?
• A good understanding of social media
• Good communication and IT skills
• Creative and inventive
