Staines Community Outreach Volunteer
To support The Mulberry Centre by delivering leaflets and other printed information (as directed by the Mulberry Macmillan Outreach Manager) to designated location within the local community. The intension behind this is to raise awareness within the local community of the existence of and the support services provided by TMC.
Main Duties
Checking your assigned location (GP Practices in Staines and Ashford Hospital) to monitor their supply of TMC literature and delivering replacement literature twice a year. Recording where you have been and what has been left and sending this report to the Mulberry Macmillan Outreach Manager twice a year.
Support and Education
All Community Outreach volunteers will be provided with a thorough induction of the work of TMC, its procedures and relevant policies for your volunteer role. TMC will do our best to assist your volunteering role with us. This will include evaluation sessions and we will continue to keep you updated with all the relevant information on what support The Mulberry Centre offers. There will be an initial 3 monthly, then annual review with the MMOM. Expenses are paid for travel up to a limit of 30 miles per day, currently at 45p per mile.
What skills do I need?
A knowledge of what
TMC offers to people affected by cancer.
You will be updated regularly by receiving the monthly TMC newsletter
and other updates from the Outreach Manager.
Good Communication skills.
Ability to work unsupervised
The ability to access your locations in your patch at least 2 times a year.
The ability to record your activity and provide written evidence of what you have done.
