Committee Member - Treasurer (RB)

We are currently looking to recruit a Treasurer to join our close-knit committee team.  We are looking for volunteers who will be willing to help out, at times, with other tasks that need doing to make sure that our scheme is successful.

The role involves:

  • Oversee Redhill Good Neighbours (RGN) financial administration, review procedures and financial reporting and advice RGN on financial strategy.
  • Ensure proper records are kept and that effective financial procedures are in place.
  • Monitor and report on the financial health of RGN.
  • Oversee the production of necessary financial reports/returns, accounts and audits.
  • Oversee the financial affairs of the organisation and ensure they are legal, constitutional and within accepted accounting practice.
  • Liaise with relevant committee members to ensure the financial viability of RGN.
  • Make fellow committee members aware of their financial obligations if any, e.g bank signatories; and take a lead in interpreting financial data to them.
  • Regularly report the financial position at committee meetings (balance sheet, cash flow, fundraising performance etc).
  • Oversee the production of an annual budget and propose its adoption at the last meeting of the previous financial year.
  • Ensure proper records are kept and that effective financial procedures and controls are in place i.e.
  • * Cheque signatories
  • * Purchasing limits
  • * Purchasing systems

Please note - During Covid-19 crises, RGN will be following government’s guidance in relation to its service.



What skills do I need?

  • Experience and knowledge of financial management 
  • Well organised
  • Good record keeping skills
  • Good IT skills e.g. Excel

Please note all our roles are flexible and home based. We usually meet once a month in Redhill but due to Covid-19, we now have occasional Zoom meetings instead.
