Spelthorne Breastfeeding Friends has been established to recruit and train volunteer supporters from the Borough of Spelthorne to befriend, help, support and encourage mothers, primarily around the feeding of their babies, especially those wanting to breastfeed but also in other practical ways.
We are looking for a Trustee, who shares in our values and vision and who has the skills, qualities, expertise and time to help us develop and grow, to join our enthusiastic management committee and to take on the position of Treasurer.
Ideally, you will have an accountancy/book keeping qualification, and experience of financial management and the ability to explain financial information. As Treasurer you will be working closely with the Chair and Vice Chair to drive the Management Committee. Trustee roles are usually governance and strategy based but as a new and very small charity with no paid staff, the Treasurer will be expected to support in areas that would usually be designated for operational staff, such as fundraising and applying for grants.
As this role is voluntary, it offers great flexibility to fit around your time (including daytimes, evenings and/or weekends) but we are looking for someone who is able to offer at least 2-3 hours a week.
