Help make a difference to the lives of people affected by complex communication difficulties and their families
We are seeking volunteers to join our enthusiastic Board of Trustees
Dyscover is a local charity offering long term support to people with aphasia, a condition which is brought on by stroke, or brain injury or a rare language led dementia which results in difficulties in processing and formulating language. We are based in Leatherhead with a satellite group in Kingston.
We offer group and 1:1 sessions which are led by professional Speech and Language Therapists and are designed to help people to adjust to living with aphasia. We help our members to develop strategies for communicating, maximise abilities and provide help and support for partners, carers and other family members.
We welcome applications from individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Whether you are an experienced Trustee or looking to take your first step at Board level, we would love to hear from you. We are particularly keen to find someone with a professional fundraising background, as well as people who have experienced aphasia in some way.
