Trustee for Age UK Surrey (VSNS)
Age UK Surrey is a small but ambitious local independent charity providing services across the whole of the county to help older people aged 50+ make the most of their life. We have been established for over 50 years and are a Brand Partner of Age UK.
Our vision is for older people to improve their wellbeing and independence to get the most from later life. As a person-centred organisation we put older people at the heart of everything we do. Our aim is to provide a range of services, support and activities across Surrey to enable people to be resilient throughout the changes and challenges of later life.
We are currently looking for Trustees who have experience or a background in any of the following areas: Human Resources, Information Technology, Fundraising, Health or Social Care to join our Board of Trustees. This is a voluntary Role but expenses will be paid.
What skills do I need?
We are looking for a person with the following:
An understanding of the needs of older people.
An ability to work effectively as a member of a team with a commitment to the aims and values of the organisation and a willingness to devote the necessary time and effort to provide the level of commitment required for this role.
Good strategic vision, independent judgement and creative thinking and a willingness to challenge others.
An understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship.
A willingness to support the staff team as appropriate.

Availability Details
The role will require approximately 3 - 6 hours a month. There is a requirement to attend bi-monthly board meetings.
