Volunteer Befriender (SH)
We are looking to recruit volunteer 'befrienders' to work alongside our family outreach team who can spare time to be a friendly face for our supported families.
As a befriender, the support you might offer could range from a chat over a cup of tea or helping out with shopping to accompanying families of seriously-ill children to Trust events.
Our family Support Workers offer a service in the family home and local community which is flexible, yet tailored to the needs of each family member, including the parents, siblings, grandparents and other significant carers. We need your help in order for us to continue to always be there for the families.
What skills do I need?
Volunteer requirements:
we do not require befrienders to have any specific training or qualifications.
we would like our befrienders to be able to drive and have access to a car to enable maximum support but consideration will be given to those that cannot drive/have access to a car
suitable training will be given including the opportunity to be first aid trained
