Community Outreach Support (CSVA)

To assist Crossroads Care Surrey in responding to Covid-19 by facilitating the delivery of essential shopping for Carers and vulnerable people that have been isolated or shielding at home. With access to your own vehicle you will respond to requests made by our Co-ordinators to complete a shopping trip, or a prescription collection, for a vulnerable client. We will support clients to make online shopping orders or will collect cash and shopping lists/prescriptions which you would be responsible for collecting from the relevant shop or pharmacy and delivering to the client.

We support Carers across the whole of Surrey so we are keen to recruit an equal spread of volunteers across all 11 local authority boroughs/districts to support unpaid carers and other vulnerable or at-risk people who may be self-isolating due to Covid-19.

What skills do I need?

• Access to a laptop or PC and willingness to connect to cloud-based telephone and rostering systems • DBS General caring skills which will include: • Patience • Sense of humour • Listening skills • Adaptability • Discretion • Honesty and reliability • Confidentiality

Availability Details

We ask that you be available on a relatively flexible basis to receive calls with requests to arrange trips up to 5 days per week. You are asked to respond to every request, however we would ask you to commit to engaging in a minimum of 2-3 trips per week (4-6 hours). If you would like to support us but cannot commit to 4 hours per week, please call us to discuss your availability.
