The Sea Cadets is a national organisation looking to give young people aged 10-18 years old a head start in life through nautical adventure and fun.

Camberley Sea Cadets needs someone to co-ordinate and run the Duke of Edinburgh Scheme within the unit to its senior cadets.

The role would include day to day managing of the DofE website, maintaining cadet interest, managing their expectations and programme development, organising expedition in partnership with the District Co-ordinator and Southern Area Co-ordinator. No previous expedition experience is required, just someone with a little knowledge of the scheme and lots of enthusiasm.

What skills do I need?

  • Experience of Duke of Edinburgh processes (desirable)
  • Delivery of the Duke of Edinburgh programme with young adults (desirable)
  • Experience of the Duke of Edinburgh online programme (desirable)  
  • Ability to work and interact with young people following a Royal Navy Theme training programme.
  • Enhanced DBS (this will be provided by the organisation)
  • Good communication skills, specifically with young people

Availability Details

The unit meets twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays. The expectation would be at least one night a week and the occasional weekend.
