Volunteer Scout Leader/helper
Are you looking for a new challenge or a way to give back to the community? Do you enjoy the outdoors and being a role model? Our Scout Group based in Virginia Water is looking for additional Scout Leaders/helpers to join our friendly team. The role involves planning and running fun and challenging activities for our young members aged 10½ - 14 years.
We meet every Thursday evening during term time only. Some activities like camping and district competitions often happen on weekends. But don't worry, leaders are not expected to attend every single activity, only when they can.
Leaders and helpers not only get to try new activities and develop skills; they also receive full training with options to gain additional qualifications. Being a Scout Leader looks great on a CV and most skills developed are transferrable to the workplace e.g. organisational skills, planning team work, communication etc.
There are some other opportunities to volunteer with us, such as fundraising and Hut maintenance, so please get in touch if you are interested
What skills do I need?
If applicants have a special skill or hobby that they can bring to the group then this is fantastic, but really we need adults who are enthusiastic, reliable, team players, understanding of young people and keen to learn new things.
