Ward Assistant
To ensure patients and visitors are made welcome on the wards. Assist nursing staff and help with tasks that are deemed appropriate for volunteers.
Volunteer Role:
- Interact with patients, make refreshments and ensure patients are comfortable
- Collect notes and files from other departments as required
- Assist nursing staff with their duties
- Shadow clinicians and carry out tasks delegated to them by senior staff
- Support Patients at mealtimes with feeding
What skills do I need?
- Good communication, patient and helpful attitude
- Willing to visit various wards/departments – a level of physical fitness is required for this role. Please discuss further with the Volunteer manager if unsure.
