Film makers / Video Editors: Weekly or project-based
Include is a charity whose aim is to improve the lives and rights of those with speaking and communication disabilities. We provide invaluable services to people in Surrey, whatever their ability.
We provide inclusive community activities for people with or without communication difficulties, promoting awareness in the community. We also deliver training to organisations on how to better support people with communication difficulties.
Why do we need film-makers?
Video is a valuable and effective communication tool - for our members, and for the charity, and so we rely on a team of skilled video makers and editing volunteers to help our members tell their story and have their voices heard.
We are looking for proactive, imaginative and committed people with video creation skills to join us and make a difference to the lives of people with communication challenges.
What are the roles?
There is a range of filming and editing opportunities available in person or remote, regular or project based.
The Award-Winning Include Choir is made up of people with and without learning or communication disabilities; to raise awareness of inclusive communication, The Include Choir sings, signs and shares weekly song videos on our YouTube Channel: https://music.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLmM3aG2ZcnqWWBL1h4II_0eMmZJ0xiYFU&feature=shared.
As well as our weekly shorts, our Video creation team make creative song videos and take on other projects.
Beyond the musical content, we also regularly need compelling explainer videos. These are shared throughout the year, but particularly during November and December, as part of our annual fundraising campaigns
What is the time commitment?
We have a team of editors and photographers - the more we have, the lighter the workload. We are currently looking for people who can commit to creating our 1 minute long weekly video shorts once a month, and /or are willing to join the team creating our Campaign Videos
What is the benefit of volunteering with us?
Volunteering weekly, fortnightly or on a project basis is a great way to gain experience alongside a dedicated, fun-loving team whilst helping to make a difference to people at the greatest risk of isolation. Your work will be shared on our website and social media platforms, and in addition to the technical skills, you will experience the joys of working alongside a great team.
