Queens Award for Voluntary Services

Queens Award for Voluntary Services

The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service is the highest award given to local volunteer groups across the UK to recognise outstanding work done in their own communities. They are seen as a national benchmark for excellence in volunteering. Nominations are open for the 2021 awards until midnight on 25 September 2020.

Any group of two or more people that has undertaken voluntary work for more than three years and is doing volunteer work that provides a social, economic or environmental service to the local community can be nominated.

The nominator should have good knowledge of the group’s work (e.g. as a supporter, champion or beneficiary). However, they must not be a volunteer, employee, trustee or anyone involved with the running of the group. We need to ensure that nominations are independent.

Nomination is via an on line process and each group is assessed on the benefit it brings to the local community and its standing within that community.
