Scam Awareness for Charities

Scam Awareness for Charities

Surrey County Council are hosting Scam Awareness sessions to raise awareness of scams targeting organisations and to help charities and businesses prevent themselves becoming the victims of such scams.

The sessions would be suitable for anyone within an organisation that has the authority to make financial decisions or have access to private business information.

The first session is on 24th November at 10:30 and should take just over an hour, depending on how many questions are raised.

The Council will be highlighting Government grant and tax rebate scams, CEO fraud, invoice/mandate fraud and tech support scams as well as providing more general practical steps for reducing risks from scams.  This is a very difficult time for many charities but, sadly, that is one of the key reasons that they are currently more susceptible to scams.

Those interested in attending on 24th November should email Natalie at to book a place.

If that date doesn’t work,  interested organisations can contact Natalie to pre-book for the next live online session on 26th January 2021.
