Surrey carer flu jabs – now available
Help spread the word:
If you look after someone who is elderly or disabled, you can ask for a flu jab at your GP practice or take a Surrey Carers’ Flu Jab Voucher to your nearest participating community pharmacy.
Please help spread this message to all Surrey unpaid carers who may be unaware that they are eligible for a free flu voucher or of the risks to themselves and the person they care for if they don’t protect themselves with the flu vaccine.
Please keep an eye out for the social media messages and share these where possible using the hashtag #SurreyCarersFluJabVoucher.
Flu and Covid-19 viruses can be life-threatening. They also have the potential to increase pressures faced by the NHS this winter. NHS Surrey Heartlands Health and Care Partnership is therefore encouraging all unpaid carers in Surrey to take up the offer of a free flu vaccination.
This is a priority, not only to protect themselves and the people they care for but also to help reduce hospitalisations during a time that we expect will be especially busy for the NHS and social care.
The Surrey Carer’ Flu Jab Voucher campaign is encouraging unpaid carers to get the flu jab as early as possible this flu season. The core message is that if you look after someone who is elderly or disabled you can ask for a flu jab at your GP practice or take a Surrey Carers’ Flu Jab Voucher to your nearest participating community pharmacy to protect yourself this winter before the end of November.
