VARB is part of a national network of Councils for Voluntary Service and we work to guidelines set down by National Association of Voluntary and Community Associations (NAVCA).
VARB is also a registered Volunteer Centre, accredited by the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO)
VARB receives funding from Surrey County Council, Reigate & Banstead Borough Council and the Surrey Heartlands Clinical Commissioning Group. This covers around 80% of our costs.
We continually seek additional funding to deliver projects that meet our core aims. In 2020/21 we are delivering the following projects:
- “Doing Good Does You Good Project” – recognising the mental health benefits of volunteering – funded by The BUPA Foundation.
- “Young Volunteer Project” – to encourage and support volunteering among young people – funded by Community Foundation for Surrey and the iWill fund (from the National Lottery and the Surrey Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner)
- “Covid-19 Support Projects” – to support volunteers and the local voluntary sector during the response to Covid-19 – funded by Community Foundation for Surrey, Community Fund for Reigate & Banstead and our core funders
- “Festive Feast on Wheels” – a volunteer-led, home delivered Christmas Day lunch for vulnerable people – funded by Gatwick Airport Community Trust and Reigate Rotary
